Ibiza in September 2026: Why It’s One of the Best Months to Explore the Island by Sea

September is one of Ibiza’s most underrated months.

The peak weeks of summer begin to ease, but the island is still very much alive. The days remain warm, the Mediterranean is perfect for spending time on the water, restaurants and beach clubs are open, and there is still plenty happening across the island.

For us at jetski.club, September is also one of our favourite times of the season to be out at sea.

After an incredibly busy summer filled with jet ski tours, private experiences, sunset rides and special events, September brings a slightly different side of Ibiza: still energetic, but with a little more space to enjoy it.

If you are planning Ibiza in September 2026, here is what to expect — and why seeing the island from the water should be on your list.

What Is Ibiza Like in September?

September sits in a sweet spot between peak summer and the quieter months that follow.

According to Spain’s official meteorological agency, AEMET, Ibiza’s historical September climate averages include daytime maximum temperatures of around 27.7°C, with an overall monthly average of 23.8°C.

That means beach weather is far from over.

The official Balearic Islands tourism website also highlights September as a great time to discover Ibiza, when visitors can continue enjoying the island’s beaches, culture and outdoor activities.

For many visitors, this combination makes September particularly attractive: summer weather and atmosphere without quite the same intensity as the busiest weeks of July and August.

And from the sea, the difference can be even more noticeable.

Why September Is a Great Time to Discover Ibiza from the Sea

Enjoying quality time at sea during a sunset jet ski tour near Tagomago Island, Ibiza.

There is an Ibiza that you simply cannot experience from the road.

Hidden coves, cliffs, small islands and stretches of coastline look completely different when approached from the Mediterranean.

September is particularly enjoyable for exploring them.

The temperatures are still warm, while conditions are often more comfortable than during the hottest weeks of the year. As the peak holiday period begins to ease, certain parts of the coastline can also feel less congested.

For a jet ski tour in Ibiza, that is a very good combination.

At jetski.club, our guided tours depart from Marina Santa Eulalia, on Ibiza’s east coast, giving us access to some of the most beautiful coastline on the island.

Depending on the tour and sea conditions, our routes can take you towards places such as Cala Llonga, Cala Nova, Cala Boix, Tagomago and the spectacular northern coastline of Ibiza.

No jet ski licence is required for our guided tours. Before departure, our team provides a complete safety briefing and explains how to operate the jet ski.

Best Things to Do in Ibiza in September

If you are visiting Ibiza in September, don’t make the mistake of thinking the island is only about nightlife.

There is much more to experience.

Explore Ibiza’s Beaches and Calas

September is an excellent month to spend time on the coast.

You can still enjoy Ibiza’s famous beaches, but it is also worth discovering some of the smaller calas scattered around the island.

On the east and northeast coast, places such as Cala Nova, Cala Boix and Cala Llonga offer very different landscapes within a relatively small area.

And some of the best views are from the sea.

Discover Dalt Vila

A visit to Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s historic fortified old town, is essential if it is your first time on the island.

Walk through its narrow streets towards the cathedral and viewpoints overlooking Ibiza Town, the marina and the Mediterranean.

September’s slightly milder temperatures can make exploring the old town considerably more comfortable than during the hottest afternoons of peak summer.

Experience Ibiza from a Jet Ski

For travellers looking for something more active, a guided jet ski tour combines adventure with sightseeing.

This isn’t simply about riding fast.

Our longer experiences are designed around discovering Ibiza’s coastline, with the route adapted to the duration of the tour and the conditions at sea.

You can choose anything from shorter rides to our longer coastal experiences.

For couples, groups of friends and families with older children, it is one of the most memorable ways to see another side of Ibiza.

September Sunsets: See Ibiza from a Different Perspective

Experience Ibiza from the sea on a sunset jet ski tour.

There are sunsets in Ibiza — and then there are sunsets experienced from the Mediterranean.

Our Sunset Jet Ski Tours have become one of the highlights of the 2026 season.

Instead of watching the sun go down from a crowded viewpoint, you experience the changing colours from the water while riding along the Ibiza coastline.

As September progresses, sunset happens earlier, which makes the experience particularly convenient for guests who want to enjoy an activity at sea and still have the rest of the evening ahead of them.

For anyone looking for a romantic experience in Ibiza, something different to do with friends, or simply an unforgettable way to finish the day, this is one of our favourite recommendations.

From a Sold-Out Solar Eclipse Tour to an Unforgettable Summer

The 2026 season has been a special one for jetski.club.

One of its biggest highlights happened on 12 August 2026, when Ibiza experienced a spectacular total solar eclipse.

We created a special Solar Eclipse Jet Ski Experience, taking our guests out to sea to experience this rare event away from the crowds on land.

The response exceeded our expectations.

Every available place sold out and we eventually had a waiting list due to demand.

Watching the eclipse from the Mediterranean became one of those experiences that we will remember long after the season is over.

It was also a perfect example of what we love about operating in Ibiza: sometimes the most memorable experiences happen when you combine the island, the sea and a genuinely unique moment.

A Busy 2026 Season at jetski.club

Summer 2026 has kept our team extremely busy — for all the right reasons.

We have welcomed guests from around the world, from couples and families discovering Ibiza for the first time to private and VIP groups looking for a more personalised experience.

We have also had the pleasure of welcoming some familiar faces during the season, including international DJ and producer HUGEL.

But whether someone arrives as an international artist, a family on holiday or a couple celebrating something special, the objective is the same:

to show them an Ibiza they would never see from their hotel or from the road.

Our private experiences are particularly suitable for guests who want greater flexibility, privacy and a tour organised around their group.

For guests who want to go beyond a short jet ski ride, our 2-hour Dolphin & Secret Coves Tour is one of the most complete ways to explore Ibiza’s coastline.

The longer duration allows us to cover considerably more coastline and reach areas that simply aren’t possible on a short ride.

And yes — dolphins are occasionally seen in the waters around Ibiza.

But we prefer to be completely transparent: dolphin sightings can never be guaranteed.

They are wild animals in their natural environment, which is exactly what makes seeing them so special when it happens.

The real experience is the journey itself: two hours on the Mediterranean, discovering Ibiza from a completely different perspective.

Private & VIP Jet Ski Experiences in Ibiza

For guests who prefer to explore without joining another group, we also offer Private Jet Ski Tours in Ibiza.

A private experience gives your group its own guide and allows us to create a more exclusive atmosphere from departure to return.

These tours are particularly popular with:

  • Couples looking for privacy
  • Families
  • Groups of friends
  • Yacht guests
  • Concierge and hotel clients
  • VIP guests
  • Special occasions

During the busiest part of August, our transfer service is currently prioritised for private and VIP experiences.

From September, our complimentary transfer service for eligible standard 1-hour and 2-hour tours is scheduled to resume, making it easier for visitors staying in selected areas of Ibiza to reach our base at Marina Santa Eulalia.

Do You Need a Licence to Ride a Jet Ski in Ibiza?

This is one of the questions we receive most frequently.

For our guided jet ski tours, you do not need a jet ski licence.

You ride your own jet ski while following one of our qualified instructors along the designated route.

Before going out to sea, we explain the controls, riding technique and essential safety rules.

Each jet ski can carry up to two people, so couples or friends can share one jet ski and change rider when appropriate during the experience.

Planning Your Ibiza Trip in September

If you are travelling to Ibiza in September, our advice is simple: don’t plan the entire island around nightlife.

Leave space for the sea.

Spend a morning exploring a cala. Walk through Dalt Vila. Have a long Mediterranean lunch. Watch a sunset without rushing anywhere.

And at least once during your stay, get out onto the water.

Ibiza looks different from there.

After a packed summer season, September gives you the opportunity to experience much of what makes Ibiza special, but at a slightly different rhythm.

Book Your September Jet Ski Tour in Ibiza

Our 2026 season continues throughout September, with guided jet ski tours, sunset experiences and private tours departing from Marina Santa Eulalia.

September dates can still become busy, particularly for longer tours and sunset departures, so we recommend booking ahead if you already know your travel dates.

Whether you want an adrenaline-filled ride, a sunset experience for two or a private tour with friends, our team will help you choose the experience that best suits your trip.
